A study of US 491 between Shiprock, NM and the Colorado state border is currently being conducted. The NMDOT, in cooperation with FHWA, is hosted a Live Virtual Public Meeting on May 5, 2021.  The purpose of the meeting was to present the existing conditions identified in the corridor (e.g. drainage, intersections, traffic operations, lighting, bridges), to determine the purpose and need, and to gather input and comments from the public. All interested parties are invited to attend.
